WebMay 13, 2024 · A good way to shim the outlets (IMHO) is to run the screws through 1/4x20 nuts. Put the nuts behind the receptacle yoke, run the screw through them and tighten. I've never had to do this in a plastic box, but I cannot imagine why it would be that much different.
